![]() At 638 Rue Pouliot, Laval, we recently experienced a fire incident on Saturday Feb 1, 2025 in our building that serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety awareness and vigilance. The fire was caused by unattended candles left on a plastic table in a resident’s apartment. Thankfully, due to the swift response of the fire department and the remarkable fire-resistant properties of our building's concrete structure, the fire was contained to a single room, preventing what could have been a much more devastating event. The attending firefighter even noted that in the building, the concrete structural design played a crucial role in limiting the spread of the blaze. While we are relieved that no one was seriously injured and the damage was minimal, this incident underscores the critical need for every one of us to adopt proactive fire safety measures. Leaving candles unattended, especially on flammable surfaces, is an accident waiting to happen. A moment of inattention can lead to irreversible consequences.
